Please join NYC-DSA's Queer Caucus and Religious Socialism Working Group for a karaoke fundraiser for Judson Memorial Church's Radical Hope Mutual Aid Center! In addition to showing off our singing skills, our goal is to raise some needed funds for this respite center at Judson Memorial Church.
Since this summer, thousands of asylum-seeking people have been arriving in NYC every week. Judson Memorial Church, an LGBTQ+-positive church in the Village, is hosting the Radical Hope Mutual Aid Center—a respite center that provides a safe, comfortable place for people to gather on Mondays and receive food and warm clothing in addition to free health care provided by a representative of the United Way. The center needs money for essentials, like fresh food, clothes, and toiletries.
Come out to Ginger's on Tuesday, 2/21, for a night of fun and community! Doors will open at 7:30, and we’ll begin the karaoke around 8. We'll be requesting optional donations (suggested $5-$25, or more if you're able!) in advance or at the door. If you're able to join (and we hope you are!), please RSVP so we can get a rough headcount.
If you can’t attend but would like to make a donation, please use Judson’s online donation portal:https://judson.breezechms.com/give/online. Choose “Give to Mutual Aid and Immigration Fund.”
